Oh no, not another shock / exploitation film. It's just edgy trash that tries to traumatize the viewer. The movie has nothing new to offer that many other films have made with actual story included.
As the director said of the film "modern-day colonialism via sexual exploitation of a poor country's human resource".
**A Serbian Film** Beyond its disturbing content, I saw it as a story about exploitation and the price of chasing money at any cost. To me, it shows that taking the easiest path without considering the consequences can trap people in situations where they lose control, their boundaries, and eventually themselves. The ending made me feel sympathy for the protagonist rather than anger toward the director. It's a film that changed my perspective after the credits rolled.
